Happy Monday! I recently rediscovered a couple recipe books hiding in my room and came across this goodie: Chai Tea Cupcakes. If that doesn’t sound intriguing enough, these bad boys are topped with a to-die-for cream cheese frosting. Feast your eyes…
My dad happens to be a chai tea addict, so we have loads of this chai powder stocked in our kitchen cabinet–perfect excuse to dust the top of these cupcakes with a little extra powder. Mmm, chai flavor in every bite!
Unfortunately, I failed to read that this recipe called for “self-rising” flour instead of regular all-purpose flour, so these cupcakes turned out a smidge too dense for my liking. But hey, cream cheese frosting makes anything taste better!
Side note: had a blast licking the leftover frosting off of the spoons–arguably one of the best parts about baking 🙂
Shout out to the book 500 Cupcakes for this recipe.
~ More exciting eats coming soon! ~
P.S. This past weekend I went to a day-long concert/festival thing called Live 105 BFD at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. We got to see some awesome performances by bands like Of Monsters and Men, Misterwives, Kooks, and Cold War Kids. Even though it was uncomfortably hot, the food was super expensive, and there were half-naked hippies everywhere, I had a blast! I’d definitely consider going again next year 🙂 Check out some pics below!
